I'm Kels. Nice to meet you.
I help writers tell the stories they've always wanted to tell — the ones they’ve carried inside them for years but couldn’t quite finish. I created The Road Trip Method to give creators a way to always find their way back to their story — no matter how lost they feel.
I've been writing for almost four decades and have been ranked in the top 15% of writers on the planet. Whether you’re a seasoned writer or just starting out, I believe you have something powerful inside you — and I can help you get it onto the page.
My Story
My love for storytelling started in elementary school when I tried to draw my own comics. But what I loved most wasn’t the artwork — it was the stories behind the drawings. That’s when I switched to writing, and I knew I was hooked when I found myself rushing through my lessons just to get back to my stories.
I followed that passion all the way through Miami Dade College, where I earned my Associate in English, and then to Full Sail University, where I earned my Bachelor’s in Creative Writing for Entertainment.
One of my proudest moments was publishing my first book, Lions For A Day. What I didn’t realize at the time was that I had unknowingly created what would later become The Road Trip Method. Years later, I turned that experience into a system — a method designed to help writers get clear on their stories, stay inspired, and most importantly... finish.
But my journey wasn’t without struggle. For years, I battled with not finishing my ideas and questioning my abilities — constantly seeking validation I didn’t need. It took time to realize that creators have a calling — and that we need to create, no matter what.
That’s why I built The Road Trip Method — to help writers unlock their creative energy at will and let their ideas flow freely. I've helped countless writers overcome writer’s block and finish stories they once thought were impossible — and I can do the same for you.
But none of this — the books, the method, or even my own growth — would have been possible without my two sons, Kennedy and August. As a single father, I want my boys to see a man who’s walking in his purpose — and to know that they can do the same. Almost everything I do is for them, and my greatest hope is that they’re as proud to have me as a father as I am to be theirs.
If you’re ready to finally finish your story, I’d love to help you make it happen. Welcome — and thank you for being here.
